Ministry of Cultures is a Berlin-based company producing artisanal fermented foods. Our first product is Tasty Tempeh, a fermented food that originates from Indonesia. It is often made with soybeans, while we also make it using other types of beans and grains. Tempeh is made by a natural culturing process followed by controlled incubation that binds the beans and/or grains into firm blocks or into other shapes (like burger patties). Tempeh’s fermentation process ensures the retention of the whole bean – making it a whole, “live” food. It is a delicious, savoury and healthy superfood that is versatile and easy to prepare and can be used anyway you prepare meat or tofu.
